The Portrait of Dorian Gray

The characters of Oscar Wilde give life to the idea of living beyond any possible boundries in a space governated only by imagination.
Representing one of the most important characteristics of man, imagination takes part in building the human pshicological system, as in the case of Dorian Gray. He creates a new concept of a perfect life, which consists of eternal youth, as Basil Hallward captures another form of perfection in the beauty of his young model.
Even love is a game of imagination, every individual creating his own world. Dorian dreams of a space where love is always immortal and always new, a world of theatre with Romeos and Julliets, meanwhile his soulmate's vision of love resumes to simple reality, never wanting to step over the limits.
This takes to the conclusion that life cannot exist in Dorian Gray without imagination because in his struggle to survive he cannot go over stereotypes.
Each of us mentally creates his own world and in each of us there is a Dorian Gray, a Dorian to whom reality proves to be very cruel to, a Dorian whose wings are tired of flying.
