Finland's attractions
The Romanian group arrived in Finland on Sunday, March 30 at half past three in the morning. On Sunday afternoon we started our journey in Finland and for almost a week we had a gorgeous time, experiencing many new activities.
I was beautifully surprised by their school system. There were less pupils then in Romania, their school was very modernized and equipped with all sorts of weird, but useful working tools. I was also amazed when everybody left their school bags on the floor and entered the eating hall.
I found all the workshops very interesting, although the breezy wind and the cold made us some problems when he had a project outside. The project "City of secrets" was very important for us because we discovered the best attractions of Tampere. I also liked the workshops because we made mixed groups all the time and we started to know each other better and better. Even though we had to go to school all we did there was funny and relaxing, especially "putting on an exhibition of the City of secrets". Personally I became friend with one of their sport's teachers during a break between the classes.
The trip at the National Park was also very interesting. At first all the things I heard about their sauna and their habits were very weird for me but I ended up making sauna at 100°C and then jumping in the frozen lake. After this I felt very relaxed and ate a very good fried salmon and traditionally pancakes.
For me it was for the first time experiencing cross-country skiing and although I fell down many times it was a very unusual and very interesting new thing for me. After this we also played football one the ice with the other guys and once again we made mixed teams becoming very good friends.
All most every evening we went to someone's house and had parties. This also helped us knowing new things about the other countries and having a good time.
The farewell party was also very well organized and we had a very good time, listened to finnish music and exchanged e-mails addresses with the others.
On the other hand I think we should have visited Helsinki too because it's the country's capital, the biggest and the most important city in Finland. Unfortunately nobody organized a trip to Helsinki.
All in all the finnish experience helped me a lot to understand the mentality of the occidental people and I am glad because I took part of this very interesting Comenius Week.
