Impressions on the European Week (1)
When I heard that this year I'm going to Germany for the second Comenius Week in which Romania took part I was going to prepare myself for a trip that I was shore I wasn't going to forget very soon. The next thing I did after I found out the great news was to ask the students who went last year in Rendsburg something about the people there.
We left on Saturday, 29 March, and we staid in Rendsburg until Saturday, 5 April.
On Sunday our hosts walked us around their little, but still very beautiful town. Rendsburg was built in the medieval period and was settled on the Kiel Channel. After a long walk around town we stop somewhere to eat pizza. In the afternoon we staid with our hosts. In that week I observed that the German people aren't that cold that as most foreigners say. They are very friendly and, in my opinion, they know how to take care of their gusts.
Monday we received their official welcome at the Herderschule by their headmaster. After that we had some lessons with our hosts. In the afternoon we participated at a basketball competition.
Tuesday we made the presentation of our town and school in their Aula. After that we where divided in 6 project groups and in the afternoon we had to work at these projects.
Wednesday we went to Hamburg, a very modern and big city. We were very impressed by it`s architecture. We visited the Town Hall and the harbor. After that we had free time in the center of the town.
Thursday we had to continue working on our projects and in the afternoon a orienteering contest took place around the town.
Friday we had to present our project work. At lunch we had a video-conference and we had the occasion to talk to our friends that went to other countries in the Comenius Week. In the afternoon we had a farewell-party.
Saturday came very fast for me, I was very sad when this day arrived because it was our goodbye to all the other students. But I know I'm not going to forget that week all my life.
