Indochine |
In
1981, Indochine first appeared of the world of rock. This group composed of two
members: Nicolas Sirkis (the singer) and Dominique Nicolas (the guitarist and
composer). In almost four months they write their first hits and prepare their
live.
In November, two new members join the group: Dimitri Bodianski (a
saxophonist) and Stephan Sirkis (Nicolas’s brother). They sign their first
contract and sing “François” and “Dizzidance politik” witch quickly
become successes. In the 80’s they record albums with the same style.
In 1989, Dimitri leaves the group but Indochine remains as the pop rock
reference in France. 1991, it’s the birthday of ten years of success but in
1994 it is the beginning of the end. Dominique is fed up with the situation and
leaves Indochine in 1995 but Nicolas and Stephan want to go on with the group.
Now it’s just a duo of two brothers. They sign new contract for three albums.
February 1999, the group is torn apart again because Stephan dies before
finishing the album.
2002, Nicolas Sirkis pays a tribute to his brother after three years of
absence, singing the hit “j’ ai demandé à la lune” written by Mickey 3D
for Nicolas. Indochine has recorded a new album “Paradize” and now Nicolas
is in live “Paradize tour”.
It
is a comeback of Indochine!
