As an introduction, I have chosen this so special monument since I find it represents totally the modem France. And thus I want to show the modernism of France. Instead of choosing the Eiffel Tower, I prefer the Arch. To my mind this monument represents France as well as The Eiffel Tower .

In the first place, I must describe this monument a little. Around the Arch, I come across a very coloured ground with black, yellow, red and blue. It may be asserted that the most important part is the Arch. It is very simple, and grey. There is no denying that the Arch is very big. It was built in the middle of the business district. Accordingly it represents too the economic France .We can wonder why it was built there. Owing to the fact that an arch, in my opinion, represents perfection, in the past, animals were saved by Noah and therefore you can thank the arch for having saved us.

Now, I will explain why I have chosen this monument. This arch represents France insofar as all the modernism is in this monument. Besides, since the begin of the century , France has developed its economy and this geometric figure is so abstract that like economy which is abstract too, the arch represents France. I am quite convinced by the fact the Arch is here so as to represent France due to the fact that today, as soon as we think about France, we think of its economy. Consequently if we have culture ,we also think of the Arch. Not only could it sound as if this represented the best France but for a French it can also represent his art.

To conclude, it is generally acknowledged that France is syrnbolised by the Eiffel Tower, bread and cheese but I consider it as another point of view to take this monument.
