The flexible way

Have you ever been attacked in a small street at night ?

If so, you have already thought of practising a fighting sport. Nowadays, people are always speaking about insecurity, and some try to protect themselves by learning a fighting sport such as judo.

The name « Judo » means ( in Japanese ): « the flexible way ». The sport comes from Japan, where Jigoro Kano invented it in 1882 . This sport  is a combination between body and spirit.

It is played on a « tatami » with naked feet. The fighters wear a kimono, which is white and resistant. It is held by a belt whose color changed with the fighter’s level.

It ranges from white, to yellow, orange, green, blue, brown, and at the end, black. You need at least three years of practice to reach top level.

The aim of the game is to put your opponent on the ground and hold him for a certain time in this position .

Today, millions of people practice Judo in the world.

It became an Olympic game in 1964. Since then, people have practised  it not only for protecting themselves but also for fun.

This sport also requires a lot of  concentration .

So, if you feel threatened, have a look and go ! But I should add that  Judo, is mostly a way of life, a sport for interested people .
