Akseli Gallen-Kallela

The Finnish nature was a never-ending treasure chest for Akseli Gallen-Kallela. Gallen-Kallela knew Finland’s light summer nights as well as the snow white snowdrifts. The Picture was painted in Konginkangas and it describes a lynxcave. The painting is called in its original language "Ilvesluola" and in English "Lynxcave". It represents Gallen-Kallela’s era during which he favoured the use of lots of fresh colors and colorful landscape paintings.
